Many people own a pet or two. Some pets are quiet and cute, and some pets are noisy and fierce. In this blog, I will talk about the pets that help the most with stress. Pets have always been considered a good cure for stress and many other disorders. Pets can encourage you to exercise, and play with them, which will help you release endorphin.

Pets Lessen The Stress Hormone Cortisol

Pets can reduce the stress hormone cortisol. The hormone cortisol is a substance that resists stress, it releases more sugar (glucose) into the bloodstream. It increases the substance that can repair tissues. However, too much hormone cortisol can cause high blood pressure and clotting in your blood vessels. Which will eventually cause you to have a stroke. However, keeping a pet can lessen your stress hormone cortisol to a suitable amount. Also, while social interaction with a dog, you will have more feel-good hormone oxytocin, which promotes empathy and trust. 84 percent of post-traumatic stress disorder patients paired up with a service dog, had a considerable drop in their symptoms.

Lower Blood Pressure

Petting your dog just for 15 minutes can lower your blood pressure by 10%. This is because when you are petting your dog, you will feel more calm and relaxed, kind of like when you meditate. It calms you down and keeps your blood pressure at bay. Also, growing up in a environment surrounded by animals will make you have a better immune system.

You Will Have More Physical Excercise

Pet owners especially dog owners, will have to have more physical exercise. For some pets need to be walked, and also need you to play catch or some other game. Some dogs, like shiba inus, grey hounds, labradors, border terriors, huskies and more, all need a lot of running and exercise. So that means that you may need to chase them around so they could release their energy by running. For you don't want them to release their energy by chewing on the furniture. Physical activities can help greatly with stress. Read the blog about exercising helping stress, you could also click this button to go to the blog.

Ease Loneliness and Depression

Many pets give their owner the feeling that they are just a younger sibling of theirs. This is because some pets can be more comferting them humans, and sometimes, cats and dogs understand your feeling more fully then humans does. Studies have discovered that pets provided greater social support than humans in mitigating depression. Also, having a pet by yourself will trick your brain in thinking you have a companion, that will ease your loneliness.

Helps With Specific Health Concerns

Beyond a good company, pets especially dogs can be wonderful helpers to those without sight or mobility issues. There was also the idea of dogs detecting cancer ever since 1989, and studies have shown that dogs detecting cancer has a success rate of 98-99 accuracy. Dogs can also detect seizures and all kinds of diseases, people have also trained some dogs to sniff out covid-19.
